OPEN SOURCE WEB-GIS SERVER/CLIENT IMPLEMENTATION FOR TEMPORAL REPRESENTATION  

Abstract

The presentation shows solutions we approach for implementing an open source WEB-GIS server/client system oriented to representation of time-related events, and their evolution/forecasting, concerning environment and natural hazard.

In order to include real-time aspects, complex behavior (simulation) and multiple attributes and stochastic variables, the project turns particularly to additional modules and functions/operators/types creation in PostgreSQL, and to MapServer/MapScript scripts.

Problems concerning computing methods and standards, DB management, server/client interfaces and visualizing plug-ins will be show too.
