GEOMAJAS ROADMAP

Abstract

2010 Was an important year for the Geomajas project. A bit more than a year after the creation of Geomajas as independent framework, a major milestone was reached with the release of version 1.6. This gave the community the advantages of modularisation, ability to support multiple faces (=client side technologies, for now dojo/javascript or GWT/java), a powerful security framework and a powerful configuration system based on the spring framework which allows a lot of extensibility without impacting the API.

Now that this has been reached, what is the way forward? Which enhancements and new features can the Geomajas community expect in the future?

Presenters :

Joachim Van der Auwera is part of the lead development and architecture team for the Geomajas open source web GIS framework and has many years of experience building enterprise applications with a focus on quality and maintainability.

Pieter De Graef is the current Chair for the Geomajas project, and works as a community manager and lead developer for Geosparc. In a previous life he worked for the Belgian company DFC as a software engineer and GIS expert.
