Title

DEPLOYING AND SECURING SPATIAL DATA INFRASTRUCTURES (SDI) WITH GISPATCHER

Abstract

The talk aims to give an introduction to securing spatial data
infrastructures with the OpenSource GISpatcher framework.
To run a SDI it is important to have reliable working
software. The introduced software packages GISpatcher focuses on this
point. It provides heavily tested, well documented and versioned packages
of SDI-relevant products like deegree WMS/WFS deegree OWSProxy UMN
MapServer PostgreSQL/PostGIS.

Especially the version is very important to run a productive environment
in large setups. While administrators tend to have less support on running
maschines, GISpatcher provides packages easy to install from remote
servers using the distribution packaging tools like apt, yum or yast.

Besides the easy installation we deal with tasks of securing
OGC-services and including them in other Web-clients like OpenLayers or
Desktop-Clients like Quantum GIS, OpenJUMP etc.
While most clients do not (yet) support user/password authentification a
small helper-program will be shown to support end-to-end-encryption.
